On view at Site Santa Fe Young Curators: Breaking Chains

As an Indigenous person, I have struggled with my sense of self, mental illness, the loss of my culture, and a general disconnect from who I am. This work is an essential step toward resolving intergenerational trauma. The sculpture depicts three generations: my father, myself, and niece. Working with my family, including my sister and partner, who assisted me with the casts, allowed me to reconnect, resulting in a source of healing.
