Jazmin Novak is a sculpture artist based in New Mexico, whose work is inspired by the desert environment and the ecosystem which sustains it. Incorporating bronze, aluminum, stone, and glass, her work reflects the importance and beauty of the landscape, highlighting its ability to support diverse forms of life while serving as a reminder of our connection to nature, the environment, and each other. Novak believes that connection to one another and the land is imperative for our well-being and employs animal figures as narrative devices to convey stories of connection, identity, and shared humanity. As a Diné artist born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she uses sculpture to tell stories from an Indigenous perspective. Each piece is shaped by the creative process, allowing both the artwork and its narrative to grow together.

Novak holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Arts with a minor in Performing Arts from the Institute of American Indian Arts. She has exhibited her work in New Mexico in various museums and galleries, including the IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, SITE Santa Fe, Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, 516 Arts, and internationally at the Marist LdM Biennale 2019 Exhibition during the Venice Biennale.
